Michael H. Schneider : Principal

Michael graduated from the University of Wisconsin (BA) and Northwestern University (PhD), in Mathematics and Operations Research. He was an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University, before joining Bell Research Laboratories. At Bell Laboratories, he led an analytic consulting practice, developing and implementing customer decisioning strategy for consumer lending risk management and marketing.

Michael has over 15 years of financial services experience in Risk Management, Default Services, Consumer Lending, and Analytics. He was a Senior Principal at a leading financial services consultancy, where he led major initiatives in customer strategy consulting, implementing integrated programs for marketing and default services. He has managed teams for mortgage lending acquisition, consumer direct marketing, collections, and default services.

Most recently, Michael was a Senior Vice President of a $20B regional bank, where he was responsible for Portfolio Management and Default Services for Mortgage and Consumer Lending. Michael has developed and implemented end-to-end programs in exposure management, loan modification, and loss mitigation. He has restructuring and change-management experience, creating teams for direct marketing, portfolio management and default services.

For a major regional bank, Michael developed and implemented the overall loss-mitigation strategy, managing a cross-functional initiative and creating new infrastructure, saving over $30MM in charge-offs.

Michael lives in downtown New Haven, Connecticut and serves on the board of the New Haven Symphony.
